CRITERIA FOR A ROOFING MATERIAL MANUFACTURER, DISTRIBUTOR OR AGENT TO BECOME AN OIRCA ASSOCIATE MEMBER

1.     Each applicant at the time of application for membership must

(a)   be engaged in operating a successful roofing material manufacturing business, or supplying roofing materials for a period of at least 18 months and, in this time period, have an established office in the Province of Ontario.

(b)  be a manufacturer’s agent located in the Province of Ontario for a minimum of 18 months, and can provide a Letter of Representation from the manufacturer(s) they represent stating that they can vote on behalf of the manufacturer(s) on OIRCA roofing related business.

Must permit Corporation representatives to visit their premises.

2.     Must submit a formal application with a cheque in the amount of  $1,000.00 + GST payable to OIRCA, which will be termed an Application Fee.  When accepted as a member of OIRCA, annual dues of $1,375.00 + GST will be assessed.

3.     Must submit letters, addressed to the Ontario Industrial Roofing Contractors Association, from at least 3 companies attesting to the applicant’s good character, business experience and reputation or, the applicant can provide their most recent year’s financial statement.

4.     Upon receipt of the application for Associate Membership by the OIRCA, the OIRCA Membership Committee will send a letter ballot to the general membership, advising of the receipt of the application and requesting information from the members for reasons why the application should be accepted or rejected.

5.     After Associate Membership is approved by the OIRCA Board of Directors, a 24 month Probationary Period must be served before full OIRCA membership is attained.

Membership may be terminated during this Probationary Period if a written complaint, from an owner, architect, or roofing consultant corporation member, regarding material or marketing practices is deemed justifiable.  Any reasonable inspection costs incurred as a result of the complaint, will be borne by the applicant after full discussion between OIRCA and the applicant prior to the inspection.

6.     Any applicant who has had their membership application denied and wishes to obtain further information as to the reasons for the denial may present their case to the OIRCA Membership Committee.

CRITERIA FOR OIRCA INDUSTRY MEMBERSHIP

1.   The Industry Membership category provides membership access to those organizations that do not fall into one of the other three membership categories, those being Active (roofing contractors), Associate (roofing product manufacturers/suppliers) and Consultant (roofing consultants/inspectors).  Any organization that is interested in roofing related activities may be eligible for this membership.

2.   Each applicant at the time of application for membership must be an Ontario based corporation with an established office in the Province of Ontario .  The applicant must show that it has specific interest in the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) roofing industry in Ontario .

3.   Must submit a formal application with cheque in the amount of two hundred sixty seven dollars and fifty cents ($275.00 + 19.25 GST) payable to OIRCA to cover the annual dues.

     If the membership application is denied, the dues cheque will be returned.

4.   The OIRCA Membership Committee and Board of Directors reserve the right to reject any Industry Membership application that does not meet this criteria or is deemed to be not in the best interest of the Association.  All denied applications are final.

5.   Industry Membership may be terminated at any time and at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.
